New rules have changed how communities engage with the planning system.
Over the past three years I have been examining these changes to establish the impact they will have on the village. This summer, I will publish an interim report outlining the key changes, the issues they create and a range of options that are now available to us that were not previously.
Whilst many of the changes are unpleasant and unpalatable, the rules offer us new opportunities to mitigate these.
However, as can be seen from the attached correspondence, rather than explore these new opportunities, the MRRA’s current strategy is to shoot the messenger and deprive residents of exercising their new community rights.
